He says, “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

- Psalm 46:10

Hello,

We are Evan and Keli Bracewell. Thank you for taking the time to visit our page. We are honored you are here!

We have been given the amazing opportunity to spread the Gospel to the people of Japan. We would love to share some of our story with you!

About Us

My name is Evan. I am an Evening Program Graduate of Highlands College and a full time barista. I have the honor of serving as Student Coordinator and Ministry Training Advisor at the Church of the Highlands Riverchase Campus. My wife Keli is also a full time barista. She has the honor of serving with Lifehouse International Church in Japan on the graphic design team. We are currently living in Birmingham, Alabama.

During our time at Church of the Highlands and Highlands College, God has placed a calling of ministry on our lives and has given us our love for people of all nations. Specifically, we feel He has called us to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the people of Japan.

How to Support

To be honest, we cannot achieve our goal of moving to Japan without the prayer and financial support of a community such as yourselves.

The first way you can support us is through prayer. Prayer is essential for us being successful in the mission field. We ask that you pray for:

  • God’s blessing on our journey

  • His guidance and protection for us while we are in Japan

  • For our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being as we will be in an uncertain but exciting new environment away from home

  • For the people of Japan to receive Jesus.

The second way you can support us is financially. If you feel led to support us financially, your gifts will go toward helping us receive visas, flights, and with our living expenses in Japan. This will also allow us to devote our full attention to the ministries of the church to be the most effective with our time there. Every little bit helps! Your contributions will help grow the Kingdom in Japan as we help to spread the Gospel to those who have never heard about Jesus.

However you feel led to support us will be greatly appreciated.

Ways To Give

Why Japan?

Japan is known around the world for its polite society, excellent railway system, and its massive cities, but did you know it is also one of the most unreached countries in the world? In fact, it is the second most unreached country on the planet. What does this mean? It means the average Japanese citizen is very unlikely to meet a Christian, let alone hear the saving grace of the Gospel.

Let’s look at some statistics on Japan.

Christianity in Japan

Japan has a population of 125,974,000 people.

123,350,000 Japanese citizens have never heard the Good News of the Gospel.

That means only 2.16% of the population of Japan know Jesus Christ.

When Keli and I learned about this, our hearts went out to the wonderful people of Japan. We felt a tremendous move in the Spirit to go out and tell the people of Tokyo about Jesus. From that point on, we began planning our journey to Japan. We started reaching out to friends, missionaries, and Lifehouse Church in Tokyo to get the process started.

As described in Luke 10:2, “the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” Japan needs workers to fulfill the Great Commission Jesus gave us in Matthew 28 by “making disciples of all nations.” This is why we will be joining efforts with Lifehouse Church in Tokyo.

Lifehouse International Church

We will be connecting with Lifehouse International Church. They are a local church based in Tokyo, Japan. They are an international church with campuses all over the globe, including an online campus. Under the leadership of Pastors Rod and Viv Plummer, the church seeks to reach the lost in two ways: “firstly, to share the good news of Jesus with people who have not yet heard. Secondly, to equip believers to make a difference.”

During our time there, we will be partnering with Lifehouse in different ways. We will both be meeting new people through outreach and community groups. We will share Jesus with those who have not yet heard and invite them into a community of believers for fellowship and growth. We will also join the Dream Team at the Tokyo Campus and serve their Sunday Services where needed. Keli has also been serving remotely by making graphics for the Creative Team and will continue to serve on this team when we arrive.

Keli and I have also been given a unique opportunity at Lifehouse Church. We have been invited into an internship with the church where we will learn about church leadership hands-on. This is an amazing opportunity for us to serve the community while also learning more in-depth training for missions and how the local church operates in other countries. We are very excited for this opportunity, but we cannot achieve it without your help!
